* The Islamic Studies program will focus on the following strands:
i. Aqeedah/Beliefs - Focus at each level will be on understanding the foundations Islam intelectually and confidently. Students will understand that Islam is a way of life that has solutions for all human interactions and needs. They will understand their creator and ndertake to take a lifelong relationship with Him based on teachings from the Quran and Sunnah.
ii. Ibadah/Worship and Obedience - After understanding and being convinced of Allah as the creator and sustainer, students will understand that success in this life and the next comes only through full submission and obedience to Allah. Since Allah created us, knows us best, and wants the best for us without gaining anything Himself, they will understand that Allah is the best to guide and that we must worship Him and live life according to His guidance.
iii. Fiqh/Rulings and Recipes from God - Students will learn the Islamic rulings on various actions such as cleanliness, prayer, fasting, and other obligations. They will learn that for action to be accepted by God, intention and conduct must be based on His teachings. They will appreciate the depth and structure of Islamic rulings and recipes Allah and His messenger gave.
iv. Stories and Motivation - Allah uses stories throughout the Quran to teach and motivate us. We will use many of the levels found in the Quran and Hadith, as well as classical books, to help students understand various lessons and engage with the curriculum.
* The prophet PBUH said in an authentic hadith, “I have been sent to perfect good character.” As such, good manners, etiquette, respect, and character development will be a significant program component. Students will learn the basics of Islamic spirituality and Tazkiyah to cleanse their intentions and work towards a lifelong journey of good conduct and character in various situations and interactions.
* There will be a dedicated portion of each day for students to learn how to recite the Quran with proper Tajweed and work towards memorizing various chapters and verses of the Quran at their own pace. The objective of the Quranic curriculum will be to ensure students are fluent in reading and memorizing key surahs to lead prayers and gain from the blessings of memorizing the Quran.
* Our Arabic program will be focussed exclusively on understanding the Quran to appreciate Allah’s speech directly. Foundational Arabic will be covered with comprehensive examples from the Quran.
* To develop leaders and holistic Muslims, we will have a dedicated daily portion of our program for leadership and personal development. The following areas of development will be focused upon in the program:
i. Physical Development - Exercise and fitness
ii. Creativity - Arts/Crafts, hands on projects
iii. Organizational skills and study habits
iv. Mindset - positivity, love of learning, personal responsibility, growth mindset
v. Interpersonal skills development - social skills, active listening, public speaking
